The Table Microchurch

Glasgow is a gateway city, both historically and in modern day. It’s a place people from Europe and beyond come to, enticed by the promise of money and freedom. Some are fleeing persecution. Many are unfortunately brought here through modern day slavery; trafficking on many different levels. Add to that the hundreds living in captivity to deep loneliness and isolation, brought on by the many historical strongholds of life in deep Glasgow, then you can see that many people have nowhere to belong, no one to call family, and no safe place to seek rest, relief and healing.

The Table microchurch exists to call people home, to belong in the most diverse, loving, redemptive and welcoming family there is and ever will be: God’s heavenly family. Being part of His family starts with a meal; a Psalm-23-level-feast that offers the best of the kingdom, the abundance of life lived under the wing of our Saviour Jesus, in the midst of the darkest places.

This microchurch opens their homes and lives to welcome in anyone they encounter who’s lost, lonely, weary and needs Jesus - they are becoming experts at seeking out these people and connecting them together; showing and demonstrating the love of Jesus across a table, over a meal together.

Right now they are focussed on connecting with individuals through radical gospel-centred hospitality, and sharing life with them; they see future projects being born as a result of these experiences - taking the lead from the people they are called to. They’re even getting opportunities to take Discovery Bible Studies into the homes of the people they are connecting with.
